I am a Bolivian Biologist, I have been involved in research and conservation of river dolphins in Bolivia and Peru, for about the last twelve years. A large focus of my recent work has been in the Bolivian River dolphin (Inia boliviensis), an endemic species of the Upper Madeira-Basin. South American river dolphins are threatened by several human actions including habitat destruction, conflicts with fisheries, boat traffic, changes in the habitat that affects rivers. Therefore I participated actively in the South American action Plan, and also in Action Plans in Bolivia and Peru. Also, my main interests and current activities include conservation-oriented supporting a new Municipal Protected Area Ibare-Mamore in the Beni Department of Bolivia, which includes a large population of this cetacean.  I am also working in the Municipal Protected area Pampas del Yacuma in Beni, promoting good practices in ecotourism and river dolphin watching.
